As much as you can, consider the entire area available to you for hardscaping and landscaping before you design an element, even if you're just tackling one space at a time. Be sure to add fun features such as a fire pit, bubbling fountain, foot lights, and outdoor music. One other important factor to consider is proper drainage under and around any hardscape or landscape job. It’s not glamorous, but it will help protect your outdoor space for many years.
